Dawn Chorus

Teach the flock four pitches, then sing the nine-note dawn phrase.

How to play · rules and tactics

Teach the flock four pitches, then sing the nine-note dawn phrase. In Duet mode, select neighboring birds of equal pitch: they become one bird a pitch higher at the second perch. In Sing mode, tap a bird matching the next visible phrase note. Each bird has two breaths; Feed restores two breaths using one of two seeds. The phrase is 2, 3, 2, 4, 3, 5, 4, 5, 2. Wrong notes create alarm; three alarms scatter the flock. Duets, correct or wrong calls, and feeding spend one of eighteen dawn beats. Empty perches do not move birds. Preserve one bird of every required pitch rather than merging everything into the highest one. Optional sound uses simple original synthesized tones. Keyboard: Tab and Enter/Space operate buttons; R restarts.
